I offer several flexible options depending on the level of research you need.
Free Initial Assessment
Free - 30 Minutes
Before any paid research begins, I offer a complimentary 30-minute assessment to determine whether records are likely to exist.
There is nothing worse than paying for hours of research only to discover no records are available. If I believe the search may be difficult or unsuccessful, I will let you know before any charges apply.
Hourly Research
£22 per hour
Best for: Specific searches, verifying family stories, or “brick wall” problems where you’ve hit a dead end.
What’s included: Deep-dive research across Ancestry.co.uk and Findmypast.co.uk, a summary of findings, and digital copies of relevant records (where licensing allows).
Best for: A gift or a fresh start.
What’s included: Approximately 6 hours of dedicated research.
Tracing one direct paternal or maternal line back roughly 3–4 generations (records permitting).
A digital PDF report including a basic family tree chart and transcriptions of key census/birth/marriage/death records.
Document Look-ups
£10 per document
Best for: When you know a record exists but don’t have the subscription to view it yourself. I will locate, download, and email the digital record to you.
Photo & Document Scanning
Preserve your family history by converting photographs and documents into digital files.

The "Fine Print" (Important)
To keep my rates affordable, I work on a research-fee basis. This means you are paying for my time and expertise.
Disbursements
My hourly rate covers digital searches only. If an official birth, marriage, or death certificate is required from the General Register Office (GRO), these are charged at the standard cost (approx. £11–£12.50) plus any postage.
No Result Policy
Genealogy depends on what records have survived history. If I suspect a search will be unsuccessful after an initial 30-minute assessment, I will contact you before proceeding so you don't spend money unnecessarily.
Payment
A 50% deposit is required for all package work, with the balance due upon delivery of your report.
